Description

Within the imagined world of SZ we like to combine elements that aren’t the most obvious combination, but that work together even in their strange contrast. A perfect example of this is an antique store. Filled with miscellaneous objects of people's memories and past lives, soon to be discovered and collected by someone they will never know. Each item is different from the next, yet they all seamlessly exist in this space. For this group we sourced some of our favorite varieties of antiques - and then illustrated and embroidered them. They follow a cohesive color scheme, but each object is distinctly different. To give this collection another focal point and tie it all together, we created a series of machine automated repairs that give the garments a more lived in feel.  The repairs feature tonal stitching on organic shaped patches, commonly found on vintage workwear. They all follow placement where distressing on a garment would naturally occur over time.
