Description:
For this group, we were inspired by one of Hollywood’s oldest restaurants - a Los Angeles institution, which opened it's doors in 1919. The red leather booths, faded wallpaper, and martini glasses all preserve a bygone era. Even the waiters wear the same style of uniform; some in a vibrant red, and others in a rich forest green. This season we designed a series of garments inspired by this establishment, and many others like it. We created a fictional restaurant called ‘The Sycamore’. The designs from this group feature line art embroideries of waiters, chefs, bartenders, dishes, glassware, and cutlery. All of this imagery was created to feel like it came from a 1920’s restaurant. Two of the styles from this design group even feature the colors of our favorite restaurant’s uniform: a quarter zip sweatshirt in a vibrant red and a raglan sleeve hoodie in a deep forest green.
